Nice GUI that works on CE as much as on other platforms!

• Many people ask for Tkinter. I understand. It's a Python's standard GUI.

  Any volunteer? (Tcl/TK is already ported: by Rainer)

  I've been playing with PyQt? a little. It's nice to have easy GUI. PyQt? would be way too slow on CE though.

About this Wiki

• We need PythonCE? Icon on this wiki page...
• Wiki add, edit, upload policy setup
  • Currently, Brad has to set these manually for everyone?
  • Allowing dtml editing (or even just adding) for anyone may be a little too risky.
• Wiki's Add comment is failing (due to incorrect mail address?) Solved!

win32sh, win32sys module need to be verified and probably modified.

• I think Samuel or Doug has already done that.

SSL and thus https support!

• Open SSL is already ported for CE (by Rainer, as usual)

  Brad sent me a bunch of patch made by Jan. SSL support may be in it.

  Other than that, Doug may have done this.

Cabfile distribution for PPC

• It saves time of developers by eliminating many trival problems.

  I think it's better if Brad, Javier, or other owner of PPC make it.

  But I can do it since it's a easy task.

Verify xscale and PPC2002 support

Javier told us that basically we don't have to worry about it since Xscale and PPC2002 should be binary compatible with PPC and ARM.

Support for CE2.11

• Not much progress these days. I need help.

  I had a help, and also I found something I needed.

  Still, I don't have precise schedule for this, yet.

Support for mbcs (Non-english) pathnames and filenames

• Currently, os.listdir() and other functions/methods fail on this.

  I finished modifying cemodule.c which deals with os.XXXXdir? functions.

  It will be put into next release of HPC2000 version.

  For PPC, it depends on who is going to build and produce package.

Check and debug _sre

• In pydoc.py following pattern was causing PythonCE to crash:

          divpat = re.compile('<div[^>]*navigat.*?</div.*?>', re.I | re.S) 
  
     Possibly there is a bug in _sre... it should not crash even if pattern
     produces big match object.
  

Pcceshell.py

• In pcceshell, re-editing multiline commands may fail...fixed.
• PPC version of pcceshll.py modified for input() raw_input() has HourGlass? when user is prompted for input. SetCursor?(0,0) in readline() may fix that....fixed.
• Most probably, I will merge PPC and HPC version of pcceshell.py for eaiser updates.....beta version of merged pcceshell is ready.
• Now I will add a kind of shell escape feature so that we can use Python Console as a command console for CE. This would be especially usefull for PPC users.
• I'm thinking about a way to reduce starting up time. On my machine, it takes about 3 to 5 seconds depending on memory condition.
